Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Flushing is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Flushing is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If you’re looking for an authentic Chongqing hot pot experience, Chongqing Lao Zao is definitely a place worth checking out. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant really sets the scene. The interior is decorated to resemble old China, with traditional details throughout that make the whole experience feel much more immersive than your typical hot pot restaurant. We made a reservation for two and were seated immediately when we arrived. That turned out to be a very good decision because we quickly noticed how crazy the wait was for people without reservations. We were definitely glad we didn’t have to deal with that! For the hot pot, we went with both the mushroom broth and the mild spicy broth, which gave us a nice balance between something flavorful and comforting and something with a proper Chongqing kick. We also tried the Tai Chi beef, which ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. It was tender, flavorful, and definitely brought some heat. Their sauce station was also impressive, with an extensive selection of ingredients and condiments that let you put together your own dipping sauce exactly how you like it. Between the traditional atmosphere, huge variety o

One of my best experiences with hot pot. We went there around 5ish so it wasn’t so crowded and the queue was not long. We only waited for 15min before we could get our table. I went there with a friend of mine-had dual hotpot; green chilli and red chilli soup based. It’s so flavorful we don’t need to even dip much on the sauce. The whole ambience gives off a vibe where you travel back to China. Great food. Great selection of playlist. Great Atmosphere and great service. The guy who served us was so kind and patient. Would come back again for sure.

Hands down the best Chinese hot pot I’ve had in the U.S. I don’t even live in New York, but every time I’m in the city, this place is a must. The food is incredible. The broth is rich, flavorful, and so satisfying, and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. If you come here, make sure to ask for their dry spicy powder 乾碟. It somehow tastes better than other hotpot places. What keeps me coming back, though, is the service. Tien took great care of us, and honestly every single server here is amazing. I have no idea how they’re still so friendly and welcoming when the restaurant is packed all the time, but they never make you feel rushed. Every visit has been consistently warm, attentive, and welcoming. The only downside is the wait. It can definitely be long. But good things take time, right? Just put your name down, grab a boba nearby, and come back. Trust me, it’s 100% worth it. Amazing food, amazing service, and always worth the wait. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This is my first time having hot pot here. First of all , I really love their decoration of ancient style . It is like you are going back to Chinese Kingdom centuries. About the food, the broth are lighter than I used to eat but it’s good for me actually. Mostly after eating hot pot, I am always thirsty. But this time it wasn’t like that at all. May be their soup has light sodium in it. Plus their mushroom soup is giving you the sweet and rich flavor. We ordered mild spicy and it was perfect for my stomach. The signature dish i ordered first time in my life were milk beef and black tofu. They let the beef soak in the milk for a while , when we cooked it, it’s really giving me a wonderful flavor. It was soft, and i can taste the milky taste in it. Plus, we ordered something lime with blueberries sparkling drinks in S size but got enough for all of us. The drink is so refreshing and i recommend it. I really enjoyed my lunch there with my sisters and my friend.

It is another restaurant for Mala and Shabu that you should definitely not miss. Starting with the warm atmosphere at the restaurant since opening the door to the shop, it is like you are really in China. The quality of the meat and the food is good to very good, which is definitely not my first time. I have been here more than 5 times. I like the taste, the staff and the atmosphere are good and clean. Overall, if you come to party with friends, you must come here. Even if you step out of the shop, you will have the smell of shabu and smoke on you. I still like to come back to eat here. I recommend it for shrimp, not bamboo and the meat is both fresh and good.
